The Meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm by President Kevin Vetter on September 22, 2019 at the Bismarck Public Library.  Other officers in attendance were Vice President, Brenda Morgan; Treasurer, Victor Wingerter; and Secretary, Darrel Spencer.   The Pledge of Allegiance was  recited and the members also introduced themselves.

Treasurer, Vic Wingerter reported that the CDG&MS has  all bills paid.  The treasurer’s report was then approved as read.

Secretary, Darrel Spencer read the minutes from the August 4, 2019 CDG&MS meeting and they were approved as read.

Old Business:

Kevin Vetter announced that the Rock Club’s Pine Cone hunt was cancelled due to the excessive rain.  This field trip may be rescheduled to a later date.  There was no other old business.

New Business:

     Tom Tupa discussed three items of importance to the club. (1) A letter was sent to the Bismarck/Mandan elementary schools both public and private inviting them to attend our very educational annual Rock Club Show; (2) Copies of the 2020 CDGMS tentative schedule for the meeting and event dates were distributed to the members that were present;  (3) Revisions to the Club’s Constitution  that must be made in order to keep the Club relevant.  The changes were thoroughly discussed.  Vice President, Brenda Morgan then made a motion “that the CDG&MS approve the  corrected Constitution”.  The membership voted and the changes to the Constitution were approved.

President, Kevin Vetter polled the members in attendance. They indicated that 28 tables have been reserved for selling or displaying vendor products  as well as a gold panning demonstration, rock cutting and a fluorescent rock program.

Program:

Instead of a regular program, the members that were present assembled several hundred grab bags containing polished rocks, sea shells and other treasures that will be used for the upcoming annual Rock Club Show on October 4th & 5th, 2019.

Announcements:

The Club has officer elections on Nov. 3, and on Dec. 1, (1:00 PM) is our Christmas Party.
