The Meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm by President Kevin Vetter on July 7, 2019 at The Bismarck Public Library. Other officers in attendance were Vice President, Brenda Morgan; Treasurer, Victor Wingerter; and Secretary, Darrel Spencer. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and club members introduced themselves.

Treasurer, Vic Wingerter reported that the CDG&MS has $8,522.47 in the bank with all bills paid.  He also mentioned that an easy-up tent had been purchased with Board approval to be used for club functions.  The club has 48 paid up members.  The treasurer’s report was then approved as read.

Secretary, Darrel Spencer read the minutes from the June 2, 2019 CDG&MS meeting and they were approved as read.

Old Business:

There was no old business.

New Business:

     Brenda Morgan our Vice President asked the members for program ideas that could be used in upcoming meetings.

     Some of the ideas suggested were rock polishing, silver smithing, setting of polished rocks or semi precious gems, metal detecting, more show & tell sessions, specialized rock tours at the Heritage Center or  even a beading demonstration.

There was no other new business, so the meeting was adjourned.

Program:

     Diane Rau presented an extremely interesting program on wire wrapping.  Diane demonstrated the basic steps that could be used for wrapping a pendent and also very advanced and complicated techniques that could be used for special earrings or keepsakes.  Diane also brought a variety of samples of material.  This program appealed to every age group in our club.

Announcements:

The potluck picnic will be held on Aug. 4, at the Sertoma Park, Shelter #9, our annual pine cone hunt on Sept. 15, the stuffing party on Sept. 22, and the annual Rock Club Show on (Oct. 3, Set up) 4, & 5.  The Club also has officer elections on Nov. 3, and on Dec. 1, (1:00 PM) our Christmas Party.
