The Meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm by President Keven Vetter on January 6th, 2019 at the Bismarck Public Library.  Officers in attendance were Vice President, Brenda Morgan; Treasurer, Victor Wingerter; and Secretary, Darrel Spencer.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the club members introduced themselves.

Treasurer Vic Wingerter reported that the CDG&MS has $8,085.55  in the bank with all bills paid.  Victor also mentioned that members needs to renew their 2019 membership dues.  The report was then approved.

Secretary, Darrel Spencer read the minutes from November’s CDG&MS meeting and they were approved.  There had been no regular meeting during December as the Christmas party had taken place at A& B Pizza North.

New Business:

Becky Barnes presented information on the new 2019 Public Summer Fossil Digs Schedule:  The locations, dates and times included Medora full days: June 18-20 & 24-28; Medora Family half days: June 22, 23 & 29 (AM & PM sessions), and June 30 (AM only): Bismarck Full Days: July 8-13, 15-20, & 22-25: Bismarck Experienced Diggers 2 day dig: July 26-27; & Pembina Full Days: July 31, August 1-2, 4-5; Dickinson Full Days: August 12-16, and August 19-21.  Becky also mentioned that there are 150 slots for early registration.  The minimum age for half days is 10 and full days is 13.  For more detailed information regarding  costs, etc., please contact Becky at 701-328-1954  or the following web site:    https://www.dmr.nd.gov/ndfossil/digs/

The General Manager of Gateway Mall Miranda Moe assisted by Kurt McDonald, owner of Hot Dog Kota, presented the CDG&MS with an opportunity for free shows at the Gateway Mall on February 15-17, February 22-24, March 1-3, & March 8-10,  Friday 9 am-8 pm, Saturday 9 am-6 pm & Sundays 11 am-5 pm.  The members would be free to show and sell their wares.  Tables would be set up in the hallways.   It was stated that this opportunity would not replace the October show at the Amvets, but only as a possible addition opportunity for individual club members is they are interested.

Old Business:

Several tentative 2019 meeting topics were discussed: February 3rd would be Crystal Healing by Brenda Morgan; March17 would be Rock Trimming by Russ Oliger;  April 7 – Florescent Show and Tell by Ray Oliger;  June 2, could be a Metal Detecting Demonstration.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
