Central Dakota Gem & Mineral Society (CDG&MS)

1. The meeting

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm by President Kevin Vetter on September 23, 2018 at the Bismarck Public Library.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Club Members introduced themselves.  Other officers present were Vice President Tom Tupa, and Treasurer Vic Wingerter.  Kevin Vetter asked Darrel Spencer to take minutes as a substitute for Secretary Russ Oliger. Treasurer Vic Wingerter reported that CDG&MS has $7,845.00 in the bank with all bills paid.

1. Committee Reports:

Brenda Morgan and Jim Nevland are on the (CDG&MS) Nominating Committee looking for volunteers to fill the officer positions of president, vice president and treasurer.

Posters were given to all members announcing the 45th Annual CDG& MS show dates on Friday, October 5 and Saturday October 6, 2018. (9 am–5pm) each day.  The location will be the Amvets Club Post #9; 2402 Railroad Avenue; in Bismarck.  The actual show set up day is Thursday, October 4th about 5:00 PM.

2018 Show Guidelines were handed out and club members will pay $10.00 per table, non-members will pay $15.00 per table. (please read the guidelines.)  At least 21 members will be taking tables with either displays or products for sale.

With no further business, to be conducted the formal meeting was adjourned and the members proceeded to fill grab bags that will be used as a fund raiser for the Rock Show.

III. Announcements:

Melvin Berg, 94, of Underwood, North Dakota passed away recently. H was a long time member.  The CDG&MS sent the family a sympathy card.

Quite a few members of the Club went on the petrified Pine Cone hunt located at the Cannon Ball River area.   Two people found Pine Cones and the rest of us who didn’t were shocked.

1. Important dates:

     October 4, 2018 – Annual Show set up 5 to 8 PM.

     October 5 & 6, 2018 – Annual Rock Show.

     November 4, 2018 – Membership meeting.

     December 2, 2018 – Christmas Party (Gift exchange– rock/gem related $5 to $15.00 value.)
